How We Execute

The MEIA Execution Timeline

You’ve built something that could change how the military operates. MEIA connects you to the DoW’s most urgent challenges and gets technology on contract rapidly. The company with the best technology should never lose because the contracting process defeated them.

Our Process

A Repeatable Annual Cycle

Quarter 1: Problem Framing

Define the Need

The Joint Staff and Combatant Commands identify critical operational gaps.
MEIA translates gaps into clear, unclassified Topic Areas.
Leadership approves the final problem set for the cycle.

Quarter 2: Industry Engagement

Source the Solutions

Topic Areas are released to industry through our portal and Industry Days.
We conduct pre-briefings and Q&A sessions to ensure clarity.
A formal solicitation is released with a streamlined submission process.

Quarter 3: Evaluation & Decision

Validate the Technology

Submissions are evaluated for technical merit and production readiness.
Warfighters assess promising solutions in hands-on Operator Integration Events.
Data-backed "Go/No-Go" decisions are made by DoW leadership.

Quarter 4: Award & Transition

Deliver the Capability

Contract awards are executed rapidly.
The transition plan to a Program of Record is finalized.
The next MEIA cycle begins, incorporating lessons learned.
